I’m here! I was a little bit MIA for a while and that’s mostly because it’s taking me a while to get the hang of 3rd year at uni but I’ve made it to the halfway point of the first term and I’m currently planning my third essay in the past week as I write this (multi-tasking like a boss) so I thought since I’m on such a roll, I’d type up a quick wrap up. And I mean quick, as in… I only read one book this month. GASP. I know! I’m just as shocked. I read more books during exam season earlier this year, how is that even possible? Well, clearly I had underestimated how much work this year was going to be straight from the get-go and reading YA has been very much buried under reading textbooks but I promise I am working on it. I even picked up a book last night!
OCTOBER WRAP UP
So the book that I read during October was…
This book was awesome! It has magic, a stubborn, determined protagonist who is willing to do almost anything to ensure she gets what she wants and a grouchy, yet dreamy bad-boy type-ish Prince. Plus, there’s no insta-love, yay! I’ve only read the first book in this series but I’ve gotten my hands on the second and will be reading it as soon as physically possible. You can read my full review here!
Okay, so knowing what I do, setting a TBR for November would just be setting myself up for failure but I will list two books that I’m hoping to read this month. The first I’ve just picked up and the second I should’ve picked up as soon as it came out but it’s been sitting on my desk glaring at me.
Look at that stunning UK cover! I was lucky enough to receive an ARC and I’m buddy reading this with my lovely friend Vicky (@hunguponbooks).
Considering I was counting the
minutes days until this book was published, I can’t believe I haven’t picked it up yet! But I will. Soon. I miss my Dregs.
In other news…
I will be going against every rational thought in my mind and will be participating in #NaNoWriMo in November! I’ve already got 60k words into my latest WIP, and am hoping to add 50k more or finish it altogether whether that’s 50k more or not. I’ve really been enjoying writing this story and not even the stress of university has gotten me to stop writing. If you don’t know what NaNoWriMo is, it stands for National Novel Writing Month and is a month where you try to write 50,000 words in one month without editing. For any of you who are participating, add me as a buddy here!
So, that’s 3-5 essays to write, 50,000 words to add to my WIP, and books to read…
